Girl with a gun

Thursdays deserve a bit of cheesecake.

Not really the safest place to put a gun, but I like the way she thinks.

Hollywood does something to redheads

October 3rd, 2007 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

The latest incident involves Donny Bonaduce and someone I never heard of, Jonny Fairplay.  The result was plus one for Donny, and minus a few (teeth) for Jonny.  All of this happened onstage at another awards show that nobody heard of, the FOX Reality Really Awards.  To be honest, I’ve never seen a full episode of ANY “reality” show, and I believe I’m a better person because of it.

Last week it was Carrot Top photos displaying his hyper-pumped physique, and makeup that could best be described as Kabuki meets Ru Paul.  I won’t post a link here, but Google it if you haven’t seen them yet.  Put any drinks down first for the sake of your keyboard.

Of course we have the continual meltdown of Linsdsay Lohan.

And previous to that was Nicole Kidman’s unexplainable marriage to Tom Cruise.  Tom, come out of the closet, you aren’t fooling anyone.

Shirley MacLaine. No explanation needed there.

Seth Green. He’s also gone crazy, but in a good way. Watch any episode of Robot Chicken.

I’m sure there are more we can add…

If you take others like Ron Howard, I have a theory that any actor that was filmed in black and white on TV or in the movies has immunity from whatever is affecting the rest of the flock.

Eddie’s new gun, part II

If you were going to pick a new rifle for small game, it wouldn’t be what Eddie bought.

I’m not going to tell you what it is until I get a pic.

And the Loonie shall rise again

September 30th, 2007 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

So the Canadian dollar (Loonie) is actually worth more than the American dollar.  I have nothing against Canadians, and in the past the Canadian dollar being worth less than ours was good for teasing and exchange rate jokes.  Now the joke is on us, and it isn’t funny.

Mr President’s private army

September 26th, 2007 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

So the Blackwater boys in Iraq are totally out of control by some reports.  Congress wants to call them in for questioning.  And Condie Rice tells the Blackwater people to not answer any questions, and that any information the have is “property of the State Department”.

If I remember correctly, Congress pays the bill (with OUR money), is responsible for oversight, and nobody is immune from a Congressional subpeona.

So what it looks like to me is that the Executive Branch is declaring that they have their own private army that is answerable to nobody.  There’s a pattern of thinking happening in Washington that is getting more than a little worrisome.

New Site Software

I switched the site over to WordPress.  It might make updating easier, So I can get posts up on a more regular basis.

I’m gonna play with the layout a bit, so if you see it broken every now and then, that would be me messing around with things I probobly shouldn’t.

Eddie’s new gun

September 25th, 2007 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

After he broke his old Mossberg, Eddie had to go shopping for a new Rifle. Since he couldn’t get a new stock to replace the one he broke against the tree, he had to get his old lady to open the purse for some shopping money.

He had asked if I could maybe get some money on EBay for the old parts, but since they don’t allow too much in the way of gun part sales anymore, I couldn’t help. I heard the guy at the gun store gave him a few bucks for it mainly because Eddie’s been a customer for a long time. That and the scope had somehow managed to stay in one piece. A really nice Nikon that he won at a shooting match.

I’m not sure exactly how he explained it to his wife about what happened to the old rifle, but I’m sure it wasn’t a quiet conversation on her part. I asked what kind of rifle he picked up, but he said it would be a suprise the next time we go hunting together.

I’m sure that Paula cut him off for a bit. But considering where some of them bee stings were, I’ll bet Eddie isn’t too put out about that. And it also gives her an excuse for staying out late and spending more time on a bar stool.

Immigration

Here’s my two cents.

It’s not about Mexican, Dominican, European, or even Martian. It’s about who’s here legally, and who isn’t. Anyone in the country that is following the rules and laws of the United States, Welcome the the USA. Anyone that’s here without doing so, then back to your country of origin.

And if they are here illegally, I’m not saying deprive them of healthcare, or basic services. Lets take care of them the best we can. And then buy them a plane ticket back home.

After that, we charge their home country for whatever the costs are, plus say a 15% service fee. And if their homeland doesn’t want to pay, then we just deduct it from whatever foreign aid that country gets. This does several things. It keeps our healthcare system from going broke by making sure services are paid for. It keeps Americans healthier by keeping healthcare costs down because it eliminates a huge chunk of pass along costs that we have to carry. And it maybe eliminates certain countries from encouraging, and even actively supporting illegals coming here.

I have no problem with anyone wanting to better for themselves and their families, but I’m just not happy about having to pay for it without a Thank You, nevermind demands that they get treated equally, or even better..

The Rights and privilages we enjoy here are for American Citizens. And anyone not a Citizen or otherwise here legally has protections under the law. The two are not the same.

Eddie and the bee tree

August 16th, 2007 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

My friend Eddie, not the sharpest tack, but good at climbing trees to retrieve the critters that don’t make landfall, went on a hunt with me this weekend. He brought along his old Mossberg 22. Really good shooting rifle, but you have to realize that being anywhere near Eddie when he’s carrying, other than behind him, is a tad well… unsafe.

We were pretty deep into the woods so that any of the local citizenry wouldn’t be scared off by the shooting, or Eddie’s 3 tooth smile. We were also in an area where some racoon and possum was likely to show up. I don’t care for either for eating, but Eddie’s wife would eat anything. I guess that explains more than you care to know about a lot of things.

So we was sitting on a pretty good size deadfall trunk waiting for some rustling on the ground or in the trees so we’d have a thing or two to shoot at. I guess Eddie didn’t really pay attention the the end of the log he was sitting on. He started swatting at a bee or two that seemed a bit upset at him. Next thing you know, he’s ripping off his jacket and running around trying to get some bees that crawled up underneath off of him.
